 The Brooklyn Cyclones (21-25) go for consecutive wins against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (24-22) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, N.J.

RHP Christian Scott (1-0, 3.07) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Jersey Shore’s RHP Gunner Mayer (0-3, 5.32).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones returned to the win column on Thursday night with a 6-1 win over the BlueClaws...1B Chase Estep got Brooklyn’s offense in gear early with a solo home run in the 2nd and an RBI single in the 4th...CF Omar De Los Santos picked up 3 hits, including an RBI single in the 5th and a 2-run homer in the 7th...2B César Berbesi garnered a pair of doubles and an RBI in the 7th...RHP Jeffrey Colón punched out 7 and permitted 1 run over 5.2 innings to earn his first win of 2023...RHP Dylan Tebrake and RHP Wilkin Ramos united for 3.1 frames of scoreless relief...1B Rixon Wingrove and 2B Wilfredo Flores each collected multi-hit games for Jersey Shore. 

 

UP TO PAR-ADA: Kevin Parada extended his hitting streak to 6 games with a knock in Thursday’s win...The 21-year-old is 8-for-his-last-23 (.348) with a run scored, 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and a pair of walks...He is tied with Greenville’s INF Blaze Jordan for 3rd in the SAL in doubles (13)...Only Winston-Salem OF Wilfred Veras (20) and Hudson Valley OF Spencer Jones (16) have collected more...In May, Parada was tied for 3rd in the circuit in two-baggers (9) and tied for 4th in the league in extra-base hits (12). 

 

MATEO MASH: INF Mateo Gil has reached base safely in 10 of his last 11 games dating back to May 18 at Hudson Valley...While the 22-year-old is slashing only .235/.366/.559, he has registered an impressive .925 OPS in that time...Gil is 8-for-34 at the plate (.235) with 7 runs scored, 2 doubles, 3 home runs, and 9 RBI adding 7 walks and a hit-by-pitch...Since that date, Gil is tied for the South Atlantic League lead in home runs (3)...The former 3rd-round pick also leads Brooklyn OPS (.925) and is tied for the team lead in RBI (9) during that stretch (min. 15 PA). 

 

OMAR ON THE RUN: OF Omar De Los Santos has reached base safely in 5-straight games since Sunday vs. Winston-Salem...The 23-year-old is 6-for-his-last-19 (.316) with 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, a home run, 5 RBI, and 3 stolen bases...Since the start of last week’s homestand, De Los Santos leads Brooklyn in hits (10), total bases (20), doubles (4), home runs (2), RBI (8), and stolen bases (5)...In addition to his 19 stolen bases in 2023, he remains among the best base stealers in Minor League Baseball since the beginning of 2022...The 23-year-old has accumulated 89 stolen bases in that span, which is 4th most in MiLB...Only Red Sox prospect INF David Hamilton (96), Marlins farmhand INF Nasim Núñez (95), and Aberdeen OF Luis Valdez (94) have swiped more...De Los Santos has also snagged 51 more bases than any other Mets prospect in that time...Fellow Cyclone IF/OF Jaylen Palmer is 2nd with 38...Omar is already 13 swipes shy of matching INF Walter Rasquin’s franchise record for single-season stolen bases (32) which was set back in 2017.
