- Mets: Are 4-2 through the first six games of their eight-game stretch against NL East opponents...Mets relievers did not allow an earned run over 4.1 innings...Is the most innings the bullpen has gone without allowing an earned run in a game this season.
Tylor Megill: Has recorded seven or more strikeouts in three of his first five starts this season...Was the first Mets starter since Taijuan Walker to record eight or more strikeouts over 4.2 or fewer innings...Walker had 10 strikeouts over 4.1 innings on October 4, 2022.
Mark Vientos: Put the Mets on the board with a two-run double in the second...Has nine RBI in his last nine games..Is batting .385 (15-39) against left-handed pitchers.
Starling Marte: (2-4, R): With his 21st multi-hit game of the season tied for fifth-most such games in the National League and tied for the 11th-most such games in the majors.
NY Post: Mets start homestand
with momentum-killing loss to Marlins “They got just
four hits, made a pair of costly errors and generally looked
like a team that was still on London time in a 4-2 loss
to the last-place Marlins. And it came in front of another small crowd at Citi
Field, where the Mets have played poorly all season.”
Laura Albanese
Newsday: Mets fall to Marlins despite Francisco Alvarez's return. "The Mets defense collected their 43rd
and 44th errors of the year – second in the National League to…well, the
Marlins – both leading to unearned runs. This also happened after coming into
the day with -31 defensive runs saved above average, according to Baseball
Reference, which is the second-worst in baseball."
Brian Joura Mets360: The Citi Field
offense reared its ugly head, as the Mets managed just two runs on four hits
and fell to the lowly Marlins, 4-2, Tuesday night. A two-run double by Mark
Vientos gave the Mets a 2-1 lead in the second inning. But that was the extent
of their run scoring for the night.

vet on getting benched more often: ‘It’s something I’m not really used to’
“Mets manager Carlos Mendoza kept
McNeil out of the starting lineup again Tuesday night for the team’s
4-2 loss to the Marlins at Citi Field.”
- Mets not bringing promising pitcher back up to big leagues — yet
“Don’t expect to see Christian Scott back in the rotation anytime soon. With
three off days scheduled in less than three weeks, the Mets don’t figure to
need another starter until after the All-Star break, which begins July 15.”
