PRESS RELEASE: NEW YORK METS TO HOST ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE NOVEMBER 19 AT CITI FIELD

 


As part of their MetsGiving initiatives, the New York Mets are hosting their annual Food Drive to benefit Food Bank For New York City on Tuesday, November 19 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Mets Team Store at Citi Field. Mr. and Mrs. Met will make a special appearance between 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. 

 

All types of canned and packaged goods are welcome, but no glass containers, perishable or expired food items please. The most needed food items are canned vegetables, tomato sauce, vegetable soups, broth, canned fruits (in juice or light syrup), dried fruits, 100% fruit juices, beans (canned or dry), peanut butter, nuts, canned meat (chicken, beef, ham), canned fish (tuna, salmon, sardines), canned stews (chicken or beef), rice (white, brown, flavored), pasta, noodles, cold cereal, hot cereal (grits, oatmeal, farina), flour, cornmeal, baking mixes, whole grain crackers, couscous, dry milk packets, shelf stable milk, soy milk, almond milk, rice milk, nutrition beverages, granola bars.

 

Fans donating at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2025. Fans will be limited to one ticket voucher. The Mets Team Store will also be offering a 20% discount to those who donate.

 

Food Bank For New York City aims to empower every New Yorker to achieve food security for good. They work with 800+ soup kitchens, food pantries, and campus partners to provide immediate and reliable access to food and nutrition education.

 

Free parking for the Food Drive will be available in Lots B and D. Due to off-season construction at Citi Field, Seaver Way is closed to vehicles. Fans can access Lots B and D through Gate 8 at Shea Road and Boat Basin Place.

 

The Mets Team Store is located on the first base side of Citi Field, between the Jackie Robinson Rotunda and the Hodges Entrance.
