Good Morning. Happy Birthday Jose Vizcaino.  The Mets are confident they will agree with Lindor and Conforto as the clock ticks, Mets release Tommy Hunter, and Matt Harvey makes the O's.

No Mets Game yesterday.  The Mets will take on the Nationals tonight at 6PMDavid Peterson on the mound.  We will have coverage here later today on Mack's Mets.

Tim Healey Newsday:  With the clock ticking on Lindor and Conforto contract talks, Mets are prepared to spend big.  "’We have plenty of capacity,’ team president Sandy Alderson said in a recent interview…’But always having options and maintaining that flexibility is important’… In Alderson’s view, even the richest organizations must pick their spots. ‘Big-market teams typically have more choices available to them,’ Alderson said. ‘But you still have to be patient, you still have to be discerning. And you also have to have an eye on the future.’”

Rob Piersall MMO Exclusive: Marcus Stroman Talks Baseball, Life, and Everything In-Between. Among his comments on the off season moves was this: “Like I said, we have a ton of depth, I’ve never been on a team that has this much depth. I walk out of the clubhouse, Mallex Smith, Kevin Pillar, Albert Almora jr, it’s crazy man and these are just additions to what we already had. To the Conforto’s, to the McNeil’s, to the Nimmo’s, these are all additions so I love our squad and I’m very confident in every single one of our guys and I’m excited to play with all of them.”

SNY.TV: Could Mets get a Noah Syndergaard extension done using Lance McCullers' deal as roadmap? McCullers, 27, agreed to an extension worth $85 million over five years that will start with the 2022 season, per multiple reports…While Syndergaard has more upside than McCullers, he is a year older and is coming off Tommy John surgery (whereas McCullers already successfully returned from the procedure in 2020 after missing all of 2019).

Amazing Avenue: Dominic Smith will continue to make his impact felt—on the Mets and in Major League Baseball—in 2021. His defense probably won’t be great, but the Mets are still very lucky to have Dominic Smith on their team.

Mike Puma NY Post: Dave Eiland tip led to Jacob deGrom’s Mets star turn. “…at spring training in 2018…As camp began that spring, Dave Eiland, then the new Mets pitching coach, spoke with Jacob deGrom and delivered a message that resonated with the right-hander as he strived toward improvement: Don’t overcomplicate things.”
