NY Post: Baseball’s feuding factions in danger of freezing fans’ souls forever. Mike points out that while Rob Manfred says “’The
concern about our fans is at the very top of our consideration list.’…folks with birth
years like 1981 and 1992 and 2006 and 2017…baseball may already have lost them.
Maybe forever. No matter how high on MLB’s “consideration list” they may find
themselves.”
Mets
Daddy: Dick Monfort Is De Facto MLB Commissioner. Mets Daddy hit a home run with this one -“Remember, this is the same owner
who got in hot water for nasty and angry emails to Rockies fans. In
those emails, he actively told fans to not come to the park and said Denver
didn’t deserve a team. We saw that same arrogance in the CBA discussions. When
all was said and done, he led the MLB to make a final offer they knew the
players would never take. He got his wish with no fans coming to the park.”
Tim
Ryder The Apple: The Farce is Strong in This One...Manfred's Follies continue
on..” Any invested party with half a brain has been
screaming for months that MLB was setting up the union to either accept their
lopsided demands or lose paychecks in April (as long as that postseason money
is on the table…). Unsurprisingly, they did just that. And on Tuesday, the
union called their bluff.”

unbalanced schedule gets worse. Some prospects can't play. Free agency and
trades could be impacted. How historic would historic seasons be?

Sheridan Metsmerized Online: Ways MLB Lockout Will Impact Minor Leaguers. “This past offseason, the New York Mets added Mark Vientos, Ronny Mauricio, Adam Oller, and Jose Butto to their 40 man roster. They’re now not eligible to
play in games or participate in Spring Training. The same goes for players like Travis Blankenhorn, Khalil Lee, Patrick Mazeika, and Nick Plummer who were likely ticketed for Triple-A to start the
season.”

Best kept Mets secret in minor league circles. This is premium, easy velo from the left side with a flat VAA and more physical projection remaining. Moves like a starter, SL with good shape. My top pick to absolutely blow up. https://t.co/40bn87csjV

FanGraphs: Just How Far Apart Are the League
and the MLBPA? “The gulf between them is significant, but it doesn’t
seem unbridgeable. Negotiations in three areas – compensation for young
players, the competitive balance tax, and postseason expansion – will be key to
reaching an agreement when talks resume.”
AP
Sports: Anger as much as money at center of broken talks. Players are
seething over management actions in recent years. The union’s grievances over Kris Bryant’s
demotion to the minor leagues in 2015, against Miami, Oakland, Pittsburgh and
Tampa Bay for not properly spending revenue sharing money and against MLB
alleging the 2020 season was shorter than it should have been hover over
negotiations like an unending storm.
The 30 Major League Baseball owners are worth over $100 billion. The value of their teams increased by more than $41 billion since they bought them. Mr. Manfred: End the lockout. Negotiate in good faith. Don't let the greed of baseball owners take away our national past time.
