Good Morning. Happy Birthday Neil Allen and Jose Quintana. Jeff McNeil at Citi Field and MSG yesterday, Brett Baty named as #2 3B prospect, and Steve Cohen makes a lot of money.

MLB Pipeline named Brett Baty as the #2 3B Prospect. "Highest floor: Baty. "...It’s possible he ends up in the outfield, or eventually first base, but that left-handed swing is going to play, much like it did when he posted a .943 OPS in the Minors last year."
NY Post: Mets owner Steve Cohen’s hedge fund Point72 reaps $2.4B windfall. "Cohen, whose net worth has been valued by Bloomberg at nearly $13 billion, pocketed $1.7 billion in personal capital gains from his hedge fund, according to Institutional Investor."
Joel Sherman NY Post: The case for Carlos Beltran as a Baseball Hall of Famer. "For those who withheld a Beltran vote as a punishment, I would say that Beltran already has been punished. He is the lone Astros player named in MLB’s report on the scandal. Yes, he was an initiator and proponent of the garbage can-banging scheme, but even at 40, he still was just a player. Alex Cora was the bench coach. AJ Hinch was the manager."
NY Post: Top Baseball Hall of Fame candidates still hampered by shady pasts. "As of Monday evening, according to ballot tracker @NotMrTibs, [Alex] Rodriguez was at 40.0 percent — after 34.3 percent last year — while Beltran was at 55.7, both well short of the 75 percent needed among BBWAA voters, with 46.7 percent of ballots having been publicly revealed. "
Yesterday Jeff McNeil was at Citi Field before taking in the Ranger Game at MSG. Speculation was that Jeff was in Queens to see if a settlement could be reached before the arbitration hearings. Arbitration hearings will begin next week, January 30th. Jeff is the only Mets player that has filed for arbitration.

"With Eduardo Escobar's overall offensive struggles in 2022 and his sagging defense, giving Baty the bulk of the at-bats against right-handers makes a ton of sense. But is Baty ready?"
