Buck Showalter on how the Mets will handle the 9th inning without Edwin Díaz: pic.twitter.com/yBpA23OByx
"My plan coming here was to throw whenever Buck called on me and asked me to go pitch. It doesn't matter to me when I pitch in the game - whether it's the 5th or the 9th. If I'm asked to cover the 9th, I'll do my best"

In West Palm to see Senga. Interesting guy to watch. His velocity has ranged from 81 to 97 and everything in between with different pitches. Gave up one run in 3 innings, 5 K's. Impressive 3rd inning: struck out side, including fooling Dom Smith badly on 84 mph breaking ball.

"The pitcher isn't supposed to come set before the batter is in the box, to get rid of the quick pitching. So we just have to clear things up" pic.twitter.com/mnBxVv3PWw
Kodai Senga was asked if he had any FOMO for not pitching for Team Japan at the World Baseball Classic:

"It looks very fun. As much as I would've liked to be there, my job now is to prepare for the Mets and prepare for Opening Day. That's my top priority" pic.twitter.com/qQjldPhZRB
MLB.com: Each team's prospect with the best fastball - for the Mets it is Bryce Montes de Oca, RHP (No. 22): "The 6-foot-7 right-hander has become a bit of a social-media sensation this spring. His sinker has topped out at 101.9 mph on Statcast. As if that wasn’t enough, he throws it with close to 7 feet of extension, putting himself even more right on top of hitters...the right-hander, who has a long injury history, is currently shelved with a stress reaction in his right elbow."
