NY Post: Roki Sasaki to trim list, set potential visits after giving every free agent suitor ‘homework’. "After meeting in the U.S. with representatives from MLB teams, Roki Sasaki has returned to Japan to decide his next move, the star pitcher’s representative said Monday night...On a Zoom call with reporters, agent Joel Wolfe said Sasaki’s likely next step will be to narrow his list of suitors and possibly visit one or two cities ahead of the signing period for international free agents, which begins on Jan. 15."
MLB.com: 'It was like the Roki film festival': Patient Sasaki will begin to narrow field. "Considered one of the most talented young pitchers in the world, Sasaki is highly coveted for both his ability on the mound and his relative affordability. Because he is under 25 years old, Sasaki is an amateur international free agent under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Whichever team signs him will pay a signing bonus from its international bonus pool and hold six years of club control before Sasaki hits unrestricted free agency."

MLB.com: Each team's breakout player for 2025. For the Mets - C Francisco Alvarez. "Entering his age-23 season, Alvarez has struggled to find consistency at the plate, and he dropped from 25 homers as a rookie to just 11 last season. But Alvarez improved his batting average and on-base percentage in Year 2, as well as his throwing arm behind the plate. He now has 228 games of experience at the game’s highest level and is at an age when players tend to break out."
MLB.com: 18 exciting prospects set for full-season debuts in 2025. "Jeremy Rodriguez, SS/2B, Mets (NYM No. 7). Rodriguez has an unusually high floor for a Rookie-ball player thanks to his defensive instincts, plate discipline and bat-to-ball skills. The Mets have played him some at second base so his defensive home is worth monitoring as well as his power, which has mostly manifested in the form of doubles to this point."
Joe DeMayo SNY.TV: 5 Mets prospects who can make an impact during 2025 season, including Brandon Sproat. "Drew Gilbert and Blade Tidwell are also among the prospects who could get the call." Joe also mentions Nolan McLean and Jonathan PIntaro - one of my favorites.
SNY.TV: Alonso doesn't appear to be a fit for the Red Sox.
Mets Rewind: Former New York Mets infielder Lenny Randle passed away Monday. "He was 75. Randle played two season for the Mets (1977-1978). He batted .304 in 136 games during the 1977 season. (Subscription required)."
