The Brooklyn Cyclones (6-11) go for back-to-back victories when they open up a six-game set against the Aberdeen IronBirds (7-12) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Maimonides Park.

 

RHP Tyler Stuart (0-0, 1.98) is expected to make the start Brooklyn against Aberdeen’s RHP Daniel Lloyd (0-0, 9.00).

WASHED OUT: The Cyclones endured their 4th postponement of the 2023 season and their 3rd consecutive day washed away on Sunday afternoon due to rain...Since Minor League Baseball’s stat portal began in 2005, Brooklyn had never had 3-straight games rained out...From May 12-14, 2022, vs. Wilmington, the ‘Clones had 3 games postponed, but were able to play game one of a doubleheader on May 14...The second game of the twinbill was rescheduled due to weather. 

 

NEW KIDS ON CONEY: Brooklyn added INF Mateo Gil to the roster from Double-A Binghamton and RHP Benito García from Single-A St. Lucie on Tuesday...Gil, the son of 8-year Major League INF Benji Gil, slashed .143/.214/.204 in 14 games for the Rumble Ponies, adding 7 RBI...García made 5 relief appearances with St. Lucie, composing a 1-2 mark with a 3.86 ERA (4 ER in 9.1 IP) and 5 strikeouts...INF Brad Malm was transferred to the Development List.
