season-high five against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (2-1, 37-31) — the High-A
affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. from
Maimonides Park on Coney Island.
RHP Jeffrey
Colón (1-3, 5.91) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Jersey

Palmer scattered himself across the Cyclones’ all-time leaderboards prior
to being transferred to Double-A Binghamton on Wednesday...After Sunday’s
victory, the 22-year-old is Brooklyn’s franchise record holder in games played
(200), at-bats (656), plate appearances (784), runs scored (100), walks (107),
stolen bases (48), and hit-by-pitches (17)...Additionally, the Holy Cross High
School alum is second all-time in total bases (203) and extra-base hits (46),
third in hits (125) and RBI (68), and tied for fourth in home runs (17).
CONEY BOARDWALK SHUFFLE: In
addition to Palmer joining Double-A Binghamton, Brooklyn made a series of other
roster moves on Wednesday...OF Rhylan Thomas — INF D’Andre Smith’s
college teammate at Southern California — has joined the roster from Single-A
St. Lucie...Additionally, INF César Berbesi and OF Stanley Consuegra were
reinstated from the 7-day injured list, and OF Scott Ota was placed on
the development list, and OF Eduardo Salazar was transferred back to
Single-A St. Lucie...In 35 games in the Florida State League, Thomas slashed
.308/.375/.442 with a .817 OPS, adding a home run and 9 RBI with more walks
(14) than strikeouts (12)...Consuegra appeared in 4 rehab games with the
Florida Complex League Mets and St. Lucie...He was 2-for-12 (.167) at the plate
with a double.
OH YEAH, OMAR: OF Omar De Los Santos has
added 28 stolen bases in 2023 and remains among the best base stealers in Minor
League Baseball since the beginning of 2022...The Dominican native has
accumulated 98 stolen bases in that span, which is 4th most in MiLB...Only
Aberdeen OF Luis Valdez (103), Marlins farmhand INF Nasim Núñez (103),
and D’Backs prospect OF Wilderd Patiño (99) have tallied more...De Los
Santos has also snagged 57 more bases than any other Mets prospect in that
time...Fellow 2023 Cyclone IF/OF Jaylen Palmer is 2nd with 41...Omar is
already 4 swipes shy of matching INF Walter Rasquin’s franchise record
for single-season stolen bases (32) which was set back in 2017.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!: On Tuesday, OF Abraham
Almonte celebrated his 34th birthday...On Sunday, INF Kevin Kendall turned
24...Almonte is 2-for-6 with 7 walks in 4 minor league rehab contests for
Brooklyn...Kendall has been on the 7-day injured list since June 1 and is
slashing .214/.308/.311 in 28 games.
