PRESS RELEASE - METS AGREE TO TERMS WITH SIX PLAYERS "The New York Mets today announced that they have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with all six arbitration eligible players - RHP Paul Blackburn, RHP Tylor Megill, LHP David Peterson, outfielders Jose Siri and Tyrone Taylor and catcher Luis Torrens."
Jon Heyman NY Post+: Mets and Pete Alonso locked in standoff — the latest on contract talks. "At least at some point this winter, Alonso was thought to be seeking six-plus years at the right price (north of $25M and perhaps closer to $30M), according to another interested team’s exec...However, after a second straight “down” regular season for Alonso (122 OPS-plus following 121 in 2023), which preceded his huge postseason, he might have to consider something shorter." (SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED)
Baseball America: New York Mets Breakout MLB Prospects For 2025. They predict breakouts for SS/3B Boston Baro, C/OF Christopher Suero and LHP Jonathan Santucci saying "Santucci’s fastball and slider give him potential major league weapons. Now, it’s a matter of finding the right complementary pitches and control to tie the package together. Just as it did for Sproat and Tidwell, his first full season begins at High-A Brooklyn in 2025."
