Mets have signed right-hander Jon Duplantier to a minor-league deal, source confirms (@AnthonyDiComo had it first). It especially made sense for the Mets to add another pitcher for depth purposes at the minors level after Max Kranick’s injury.

Mets pitcher Max Kranick has a left hamstring strain and will "be down a while," per Carlos Mendoza. That takes him out of the fifth starter competition.

Shintaro Fujinami is due back in Mets camp this weekend. His visa issue has been resolved, so he's set to start a progression of bullpens, live BPs and eventually game action. As a reliever, Fujinami should still have enough time to do all that with four weeks until Opening Day.

After a bumpy transition to the robots last season, #Mets prospect Mike Vasil gets to flex his 5-pitch repertoire with the old-school, more pitcher-friendly analog strike zone Saturday in his Grapefruit debut. He’s looking forward to the throwback outing. https://t.co/nWIIguinsx
