The games don’t count...That won’t continue, especially when Hal Steinbrenner and Steve Cohen are expected to engage in a half-billion-dollar battle for Juan Soto next winter, with the Mets having plenty of cash coming off the books for 2025." 

Tim Healey Newsday: Brandon Nimmo, Harrison Bader, Starling Marte play together for first time in Mets' 'special' new-look outfield. "The Mets’ revamped outfield is exactly how David Stearns likes it: fast, athletic, versatile...Their introduction lasted only four innings, with Bader exiting early since this was his first Grapefruit League game. But Mendoza said he plans to put that trio together “as much as possible” over the next three weeks so they can learn each other and grow as a unit."

  • Tylor Megill wants to be a Mets solution.  “'I have had some highs and I have had some lows,' Megill said Tuesday at Clover Park, after continuing a strong spring by throwing three scoreless innings at a sparse Yankees lineup, striking out six, walking only two, in a game the Mets would win 5-4. 'I’ve learned to live in the moment. Take the experiences you get and try and focus every day.'”
  • Edwin Diaz feels ‘great’ after passing latest Mets test. "Díaz threw in his first intrasquad game Tuesday afternoon, needing 14 pitches to sit down Luke Voit, Rhylan Thomas and Jett Williams in order in an outing after which he said he felt 'great.'...Díaz said he will throw in another backfield game Friday before making his Grapefruit League debut next week."

2016 - The Commissioner's office overturns the two-game suspension handed to Dodgers IF Chase Utley for a dangerous slide that injured the Mets' Ruben Tejada in last year's NLDS. The decision is because the rules regarding sliding at the time were too vague; they have since been strengthened.
