The Brooklyn Cyclones (0-1) continue their season-opening series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (1-0) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Saturday evening at 6:05 p.m. from Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.
LHP Felipe De La Cruz (NR) — the Mets’ No. 39 prospect per Baseball America — is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn. Wilmington’s projected to counter RHP Brad Lord (NR).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn dropped their Opening Day contest to Wilmington, 4-1, on Friday night...SS William Lugo drove in the Cyclones' only run with a run-scoring single in the 7th...The Blue Rocks picked up runs in the first and second before C Maxwell Romero Jr.'s two-run home run in the fourth...RF Stanley Consuegra each picked up two hits, Lugo had two knocks and reached base three times...CF Omar De Los Santos picked up a pair of stolen bases and C Drake Osborn threw out a pair of baserunners...RHP Noah Hall suffered the loss in his pro debut, allowing three runs on five hits in 3.2 innings...RHP Douglas Orellana posted 3.0 shutout innings of relief for Brooklyn...RHP Andry Lara earned the win and RHP Todd Peterson was credited with the save for Wilmington.
DE LA CRUZ-ING: LHP Felipe De La Cruz joined the Cyclones from Single-A St. Lucie on August 22 and thrived over three starts...De La Cruz accumulated a 2-1 record with a 2.45 ERA (5 ER in 17.0 IP) with five walks and 17 strikeouts...The Southpaw hurled quality starts in two of his three starts, including going all 6.0 innings in the lid-lifter of a doubleheader on August 31 at Greenville...After allowing a leadoff home run, De La Cruz retired 18 of the final 19 batters he faced, including sitting the last 11 down in order...The southpaw was credited with a complete game, the first for a Brooklyn pitcher since RHP José Butto accomplished the feat, tossing 6.0 innings in a 7-inning loss at Aberdeen in Game 1 of a twinbill on June 30, 2021...After making his SAL debut on August 23 at Asheville, De La Cruz ranked third in the circuit in WHIP (0.94), fifth in batting average against (.183), and sixth in ERA (2.65).
