Bill Madden NY Daily News: Where do Yankees, Mets stand after Juan Soto's move to Citi Field? "But even with the vast addition of Soto, does Stearns seriously envision the Mets going to the World Series with a rotation comprised of any kind of combination of Montas, Canning, Holmes, David Peterson, Tylor Megill, Kodai Senga (or a hopeful breakthrough by Brandon Sproat) — and not a legitimate No. 1 workhorse (a la Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler) among them? If he’s not interested in getting in on Corbin Burnes, it seems to me it would behoove Stearns to get in on the Mariners’ auction of Luis Castillo or the Marlins’ Jesus Luzardo. He has the prospect capital to get either one, and if he doesn’t do a major upgrade to his rotation, he is risking wasting Soto."
Newsday: Rickey Henderson, Hall of Famer and MLB's all-time leader in stolen bases and runs, dies at 65.
Rickey Henderson’s iconic career came with memorable seasons for Yankees and Mets: ‘Best player I ever played with’. "'Rickey Henderson was a dream to hit behind as teammate and a nightmare for a catcher as an opponent. He was one of the most generous, hysterical and gracious human beings..He will be sorely missed..Prayers for his soul and family,' Piazza wrote on his X account."
Jonathan Mayo MLB.com: "Who are some good comps for Jett Williams? – @baseballgods16 on Bluesky...Williams (MLB No. 52) is a Jose Altuve type with less power (Thanks to Sam Dykstra for the help). He’s more an on-base than batting average guy and I’ll want to see him bounce back from the injury and the so-so Arizona Fall League performance to live up to that."
It is becoming increasingly difficult to envision Pete Alonso winding up anywhere other than back in Queens. https://t.co/AJcE0AU7x0
