According to the Baseball America Non -Drafted Free Agent Tracker the Mets have signed the following players:

Hoss Brewer, RHP, Little Rock: "In 2024 the 6-foot-4, 205-pound righthander had a career year in a full-time starting role. He posted a 3.95 ERA over 84.1 innings and 15 starts with a 26.6% strikeout rate and 9.5% walk rate. Brewer throws a 90-95 mph fastball that has above-average riding life and backs the pitch with a low-80s breaking ball mid-80s changeup—both of which were reliable swing-and-miss offerings this spring."

Hayden Cooper, RHP, West Virginia; Per Instagram: "Fastball 93.5 mph avg. (T97.2) Slider: 84-87 mph"  Per Baseball Reference: 32 Ks, 16 walks, in 52 innings pitched last year foir West Virginia - 1-4, 6.40 ERA.

Chandler Marsh, RHP, Georgia (BA 500 rank: No. 383); From Baseball America: "Marsh is a big and physical righthander with a 6-foot-4, 245-pound frame and a fastball that at its best has sat in the mid 90s and been up to 99. Marsh has only thrown a handful of innings in 2024, and his velocity was down considerably from what he showed in 2023, which clouds his draft stock."

Hunter Hodges, RHP, TCU (BA 500 rank: 489) From Baseball America: "Hodges is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound reliever who rarely throws his fastball but instead relies on a pair of high-spin breaking balls to rack up both tons of strikeouts and tons of walks...He throws an 80-mph curveball and mid-80s slider nearly 80% of the time in combined usage and both pitches have high spin rates in the 2,800+ rpm range and generated whiffs more than 50% of the time in 2024...He throws his 90-92 mph fastball about 20% of the time."

New York Mets signed free agent Danny Frisella on July 18, 1966.

1980
The Mets play their 3,000th game in franchise history, dropping an 8-3 decision in the nightcap of a twin bill sweep by Cincinnati at Riverfront Stadium. The Amazins have compiled a 1300-1694 (.434) record along with six ties since playing their first game in 1962.
2000
Hitting four doubles in a game, which has occurred only 37 times in the last century, is accomplished twice today. In a 12-4 drubbing of the Cubs, Royals leadoff hitter Johnny Damon accomplishes the rare feat, as does Shannon Stewart of the Blue Jays in an 11-7 loss to the Mets at the Skydome as C Mike Piazza hits his 3rd grand slam of the season.

2008
In the last concert hosted at Shea Stadium, Billy Joel gets a little help from his friends as Paul McCartney joins him on stage and sings "I Saw Her Standing There," to a tremendous ovation from the sold-out crowd of 55,000 stunned fans. 'Sir Paul' tells the crowd the Beatles had a 'blast' playing at Shea that night in 1965, the year after the Mets home ballpark opened.

1964Ken BoyerBill White and Tim McCarver of the Cards hit consecutive 8th-inning home runs in a 15 - 7 bombing of the Mets.

2001: The Mets down Florida, 4 - 3, in 11 innings and see Marlins manager Tony Perez ejected for arguing a call. It is his first ejection in 31 seasons and more than 3,800 games as a player and manager.

2011: Clay Hensley is the winner in his first start since 2008 as he beats the Mets, 4 - 1, allowing only one hit over five innings. Mike Stanton drives in two runs for the Marlins, who move to within a half game of catching the Mets and escaping the NL East cellar. It is the Fish's 9th win in their last 10 games and they are now 15-9 since Jack McKeon took over as their manager.
