Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.
The Brooklyn Cyclones (14-19, 47-52) will square off against the Aberdeen IronBirds (17-16, 51-48) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — in a doubleheader starting at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday from Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md.
Brooklyn and Aberdeen will resume a suspended game from Friday at 4:35 p.m. with the IronBirds leading 1-0 entering the bottom of the fourth inning. LHP Zach Thornton (NR) is expected to make his Cyclones and High-A debut in the re-start. The IronBirds are projected to counter with LHP Luis De León (0-2, 5.90), the Orioles’ No. 10 prospect per Baseball America.
In the seven-inning nightcap, RHP Jimmy Loper (0-2, 6.95) is probable to make his professional start for Brooklyn. Aberdeen schedules to hand the ball to RHP Edgar Portes (5-2, 3.24).

A BREAK IN THE ACTION: Friday's suspended game marked the first for the Cyclones since the 2022 season...Brooklyn had not played a game halted mid-contest since Game 1 of a doubleheader on May 14, 2022, vs. Wilmington...That contest was delayed at the start due to rain and ultimately suspended before the beginning of the top of the third due to fog with Wilmington leading, 2-1...The Blue Rocks won the game the following day, May 15, 3-2, in nine innings.
YOU SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY: RHP Luis G. Moreno celebrates his 26th birthday on Saturday...The Santa Rosa, Colombia native was assigned to the Cyclones on July 12...After picking up the win on Thursday, Moreno is 2-1 with a 5.23 ERA (6 ER in 10.1 IP), six walks, and 10 strikeouts in five relief outings.
