Top of the catching market has been pretty stagnant. Mauer got $23M/year in 2010, Realmuto $23.1M 11 yrs later. Also: Mauer was 2 yrs younger but got 8 yrs vs 5. Other factors: Mauer was coming off an MVP and the pandemic brings $ uncertainty but Mauer was a year from free agency
