Tim Healey Newsday: Infielder Luis Guillorme was scratched from the lineup Monday after being hit in the hand by a pitch during a simulated game Sunday. X-rays were negative. Rojas said he expects Guillorme to play Tuesday (off the bench) or Wednesday (starting) . . . Righthander Arodys Vizcaino (sore right elbow) threw a bullpen session, a positive sign he will be able to return this weekend.

NY Daily News: Luis Rojas says Mets rotation candidate Joey Lucchesi was better than his stat line. “I thought he threw well,” said Rojas…“He’s facing a really, really tough lineup and struck out three out of the first five he faced,” said Rojas. “Pitches were located really well and then the zip on his fastball was good.”

NY Daily News: After one month with Mets, Luis Rojas says James McCann looks ‘outstanding’. “Outstanding catcher. Outstanding clubhouse guy. Teammate. True leader,” said Rojas of McCann, one of the newest members of the team. “A lot of positives.”

The Mets have signed former Cardinals Prospect Sam Tewes to a minor League deal.
