SNY.TV: Takeaways from Mets new GM Jared Porter, including building better roster depth for next season. “Emphasis on innovation; Roster depth will be key; Not shying away from World Series goal; What needs to improve right away – ‘I think right away probably player development stands out that we’re looking to upgrade. It’s an area we can add some depth.’; Learning on the fly.”
"Great reputation. Forward thinker. Improving player development"

SNY.TV: Sandy Alderson explains why Mets picked Jared Porter as GM, details new power structure. “'He really has the vision that we want to execute upon'. ‘I think it's a flexible arrangement,’ Alderson said. ‘For example, I've already turned a couple of things over to Jared. We have a daily baseball operations meeting. I've been on every one of those meetings. I'm not sure I need to be on every one of those meetings. And there are lots of things that can be decided by Jared that don't have to involve me or only involve me briefly.’”
SNY.TV: Jared Porter embracing Steve Cohen's 'three-five years' World Series goal: 'I want those expectations'. 'I would just say that hearing comments like that motivates me'.
