Brian Joura at Mets360.com did his usual good job talking about the lockout: About Rob Manfred he said: "Manfred has been a man pursuing a legacy. You’ve seen it with chasing ideas to drastically change how the game is played, whether good ideas – like an automated strike zone, – silly ideas, – like allowing batters to run to first if the ball gets away from the catcher at any count – or stupid ideas, like banning the shift. Now, Manfred is trying to make his legacy by winning a lockout." (Subscription required)
Brian also included the clip from Trevor May's Podcast that was all over Twitter this past weekend:Trevor May (@IamTrevorMay) speaks his mind on Rob Manfred and the CBA negotiation.

“Bobby is misunderstood, perceived as a know-it-all. He rubs people the wrong way. He likes to be noticed. He likes to be The Guy. They call him ‘Top Step Bobby.’ He’s confident. He feels comfortable with that.” - @AlLeiter22 on @BobbyValentine (1999) pic.twitter.com/4hOryRzj7o

Kevin Kernan has been hitting them out of the park for ballnine.com lately. Yesterday he talked about the joys of college baseball in Sherry, Sherry, Baby.
As if Baseball didn't have enough problems with the current lockout, Bob Nightengale at USA Today noted how "Brian Flores lawsuit holds a mirror up to MLB's disgraceful hiring practices". Where he included this fact: "There have been 17 managerial openings in the past two off-seasons since Major League Baseball publicly vowed change in the wake off the George Floyd murder. None of the jobs were filled by a black candidate."
MLB owners meet Tuesday-Thursday in Orlando, where they will regroup. The union expectation is a new MLB offer will come soon, and presumably that happens after the owners convene. It’s obviously getting late with spring training originally scheduled to start 10 days from today.

#BabeRuth was born OTD in 1895 in Baltimore, MD. Seen here in 1930 w/his fellow HOF'er teammates Bill Dicky & Lefty Gomez, we added the color to bring them all to life! In 1930 Ruth hit .359/49/153 w/150R, had a .493 OBP, a .732 SLG, a 1.225 OPS, & led MLB in BB w/136! #Yankees pic.twitter.com/gyJbD74k0R
