Brian Joura at Mets360.com did his usual good job talking about the lockout: About Rob Manfred he said: "Manfred has been a man pursuing a legacy. You’ve seen it with chasing ideas to drastically change how the game is played, whether good ideas – like an automated strike zone, – silly ideas, – like allowing batters to run to first if the ball gets away from the catcher at any count – or stupid ideas, like banning the shift. Now, Manfred is trying to make his legacy by winning a lockout." (Subscription required)

Brian also included the clip from Trevor May's Podcast that was all over Twitter this past weekend:

Prime Sports Talk looked at the Hall Of Fame Case for Jacob deGrom. including this "Pro - DeGrom already has stellar numbers despite playing for just eight seasons...Con - Despite being one of the top players of his era, deGrom has little to show for it on the winning side. He holds a skimpy 77-53 record and only two playoff appearances."

Rising Apple: 3 big improvements the Mets have already made - Tim Boyle cites Max, Buck, and more leadoff options in Marte and Cahna.

Rising Apple: Best trade destination for each of the Mets bats on the trade marketJD Davis to the Reds as part of a Castillo trade, McNeil to the White Sox for Greg Kimbral, and Dom to the Brewers for a Pitcher are discussed.

Kevin Kernan has been hitting them out of the park for ballnine.com lately.  Yesterday he talked about the joys of college baseball in Sherry, Sherry, Baby.

As if Baseball didn't have enough problems with the current lockout, Bob Nightengale at USA Today noted how "Brian Flores lawsuit holds a mirror up to MLB's disgraceful hiring practices". Where he included this fact:  "There have been 17 managerial openings in the past two off-seasons since Major League Baseball publicly vowed change in the wake off the George Floyd murder.  None of the jobs were filled by a black candidate."
