Good Morning. Happy Birthday Curtis Granderson, Jacob Rhame, and Branden Fryman. Mets unvaccinated players not allowed to play home games, Buck and Francisco Lindor address media, and Max is here to win a World Series.

NY Post: Unvaccinated Yankees, Mets won’t be allowed to play in home games. "The rule currently stipulates that, 'Businesses may not allow any unvaccinated workers to work at their workplace. A workplace is considered any location – including a vehicle – where you work in the presence of at least one other person.'...Meanwhile, the city has laid off over 1,400 public employees who refused to get vaccinated....Although Adams has admitted the rule is 'unfair' – as unvaccinated, out-of-town athletes are permitted to play in New York – he hasn’t changed the mandate, arguing he fears another COVID-19 shutdown"
Newsday: “Under the previous mandate, unvaccinated New
York-based baseball players could still participate in games because they
happened in an outdoor venue. The newer mandate, which is currently keeping
Irving from playing with the Nets at Barclays Center, governs those who work in
New York…A workplace is defined as any location where someone works with
another person, regardless of whether it is indoors or outdoors.”
NY Daily News: "Several prominent Mets, like Pete Alonso,
Francisco Lindor and Max Scherzer, took the vaccine in 2021. But the Mets were
also one of the least-vaccinated teams in baseball last year, never hitting the
85% threshold to loosen COVID protocols."
NY Post: Mets’ Taijuan Walker not sure he will be ready to start season. "Walker indicated he is probably one to two weeks behind the rest of the pitchers in spring training. Another Mets pitcher returning from surgery, Carlos Carrasco, has already faced live hitters. Carrasco underwent surgery last October to remove a bone fragment from his right elbow that he says he pitched with for the past seven seasons."
NY Post: New Met Adam Ottavino: My comment wasn’t a shot at Yankees. "'It’s where I really want to be,” said Ottavino...'It’s great that a good team is in New York.'...The last comment could be construed as a shot at the Yankees. Ottavino, visibly upset hours later that his comment was interpreted in that manner, told The Post that wasn’t his intent...'Those are my friends over there,' Ottavino said. 'I would have gone back there. There is nothing to it.'”
NY Post: Mets’ Pete Alonso is driving again after horrific car crash in Tampa.
NY Post: Francisco Lindor ready to put his ugly Mets debut season behind him.

Mets.com: Here are the Top 10 3B prospects heading into '22 season. Brett Baty rated #1; Mark Vientos #9;
Mets.com: Injuries & Moves: "RHP Jake Reed (oblique soreness). Expected return: TBA. Reed...had to cut short a throwing session on March 15 due to midsection discomfort....OF Starling Marte...Marte reported a bit of unusual soreness in his left oblique. Testing, including an MRI and X-rays, came back relatively clean, but the Mets held Marte back from early workouts as a precaution."
Andy Martino SNY.TV: Why Mets aren’t talking to free agent Kyle Schwarber. GM Billy Eppler was telling the truth when he said publicly that the team was likely done adding to its offense. "Robinson Cano, J.D. Davis, Dom Smith and occasionally Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil will receive DH at-bats."
Amazing Avenue - Grading the Mets’ Chris Bassitt trade. "A very underrated and badly needed arm acquired for a relative song. What’s not to like?" They give the trade A.
