De Los Santos, Consuegra hit long homers to spark St. Lucie offense
PRESS RELEASE: PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (April 26, 2022) – Drake Osborn crushed a long walk-off single off the left field wall to complete a 5-4 comeback win for the St. Lucie Mets over the Daytona Tortugas in 10 innings on Tuesday. (Box Score)
The Mets trailed 4-0 at the midway point of the game, but were given a huge lift when Omar De Los Santos blasted three-run homer off Sam Benschoter in the bottom of the fifth.
The score remained 4-3 until Stanley Consuegra lined a home run to left-center field to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.
Grant Hartwig pitched a scoreless top of the 10th, stranding Daytona's free runner at third base.
Omar De Los Santos served as the Mets free runner in the bottom of the 10th and he scored with ease when Osborn, the first batter of the inning, turned on pitch from Dennis Boatman and drove it deep to left.
It was the Mets first walk-off win of the season, their first extra innings game of the season and their biggest comeback win of the season.
The Mets (10-6) and Tortugas (8-8) meet for the second game of their series on Wednesday. First pitch is 6:10 p.m.
