NY Post: Taijuan Walker’s gem powers Mets’ shutout win over Rockies to take series "For a second time in three starts, Walker fired a seven-inning shutout. In this one he allowed five hits with two walks and six strikeouts, allowing the Mets (28-15) to leave town with a series victory. In 13 series this season, the Mets are 11-1-1...Lindor’s RBI single in the sixth produced the game’s first run. Brandon Nimmo led off the inning with a sharp single to right that Randal Grichuk booted, allowing Nimmo to reach third. With the infield drawn in, Lindor pounded a single through the third-base hole. McNeil followed with a bloop double to left and Pete Alonso’s RBI groundout extended the lead to 2-0."

Baseball Reference: Veteran OF Rajai Davis has a surreal day: at 5:00 PM, he is taking batting practice with the Syracuse Mets in Allentown, PA, in anticipation of an evening game against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the International League. That's when he gets the news that he has been called up to the major league Mets. He hires a driver to take him to Citi Field and after a two-hour ride, arrives there in the 3rd inning. He gets lost on his way to the clubhouse and has to ask for directions. He finally meets his manager and teammates in the 5th. He is then sent to pinch-hit for Drew Gagnon in the bottom of the 8th and hits a three-run homer off Sean Doolittle of the Nationals, capping a six-run inning. The Mets win the game, 6 - 1.

NY Post: Lagares, Grandy tally big hits to snap skid. "Jonathan Niese (3-3) allowed just four hits and three runs in seven frames. The Mets snapped Greinke’s streak of consecutive starts allowing two runs or fewer at a major league-record 21 straight. And it was rookie Eric Campbell — who got his first big league start in left field because of his hot bat — who saved the day with his glove...Juan Lagares reminded Collins why he’s an everyday player with an RBI single to snap a 3-all tie in the seventh off Chris Perez (0-2). In the next inning, Campbell — who got the start for struggling Chris Young — made a highlight-reel diving catch to rob Hanley Ramirez, then doubled Yasiel Puig off second to end the inning."
