With the game tied at 2 in the 6th, a Mike Cubbage error with two outs and a man on first prolonged the inning. George Foster then hit a 3 run HR and that was all that Tom Seaver (W,7-1) needed to beat his former club. Pat Zachry (L,5-7) allowed just as many earned runs as Tom but took the loss.
