Mets Games Played On This Date: June 20th

Dillon Gee helps the Mets sweep the O's in 2012, Steve Trachsel flirts with perfection in 2002, and the Mets conclude a great series against the cards in 1982 with a dramatic extra inning win.  Just a few of the games the Mets have played on June 20th.

Mike Puma NY Post: Kyle Schwarber’s three home runs torment Mets in loss to Nationals. “The momentum of their previous week, when they beat up on the Padres and Cubs — two legitimate playoff contenders — has dissipated and now the Mets have to figure out how to survive a steady diet of NL East competition.”

MLB.com: Schwarber ties MLB record: 5 HR in 2 games.

Brain Joura Mets360: “Walker left with the Mets trailing, 3-2. But Jeurys Familia came on and gave up Schwarber’s third homer of the game. Remember when all the hits off Familia were bleeders? Good times, good times. Familia has now given up 8 ER in his last 11.2 IP.”
