Blade Tidwell was the 27th-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline's board. The Mets just grabbed him No. 52 overall. Struck out 51 batters in 39 innings this season as a sophomore.

Blade Tidwell falling to 52 is wild. He was a Top 15 value on the @ProspectsLive board just a month ago. Shoulder concerns pushed him down board. Up to 99 with a potential plus slider. More good clay. Kevin Parada, Jett Williams and Blade Tidwell is a haul.

. @josh_lane20's New York Mets get a great value with Blade Tidwell in the middle of the second round of the MLB Draft.

Tidwell was inconsistent while working back from injury this season, but has an extremely high ceiling.https://t.co/Ds8PsVfpio

With the 52nd pick of the MLB Draft, Blade Tidwell is selected by the @Mets! pic.twitter.com/hnqrUeCUcx
Mets getting a huge arm in Blade Tidwell, who can get into the upper 90's and spins off a nasty slider. He'll be above slot, was a bit inconsistent this spring coming off a shoulder injury. A bit similar to the JT Ginn pick, though they're very different pitchers.

With the 52nd pick in the draft, the @Mets select RHP Blade Tidwell from Tennessee. pic.twitter.com/rnlsOtWi7Z
For the Mets to get Blade Tidwell at pick 52 is a potential steal. Could have easily gone significantly higher. The depth of the college pitching this year is in this second round range.

Excited about this pick. Figured we'd get good guys with the two first-round picks but this seems like a nice bonus.
