The Mets announced today that they have signed RHP Jimmy Yacabonis to a minor league contract.
The 30 year old Right Hander will turn 31 next March. He played for Buck Showalter in Baltimore in 2017 and 2018. He was 1-5 with an 8.36 ERA, 14 games, 14 innings, while splitting time between Miami and Tampa Bay last year. Full Stats are below.
He has a 93-95 MPH sinker with a highly rated slider in the 80's. According to FanGraphs, he is out of MiLB options. If he gets called up to the majors, he will need to be placed on waivers to return to Syracuse. He will be eligible for the Rule 5 draft next Thursday.
