12/8/2022: Mets Roster Moves - Mets sign David Robertson (Report)

  

According to multiple reports, the Mets have come to an agreement with David Robertson, 1 year - $10 million.  

Robertson, who will turn 38 in April, had a big bounce back year in 2022 going 4 and 3 with a 2.40 ERA while splitting time between the Cubs and the Phillies.  

He seems to be slotted to pitch the 8th inning to get the game to Edwin Diaz in the 9th.

Reliever David Robertson and the New York Mets are in agreement on a one-year, $10 million contract, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN.

I had heard the Cubs were seeking a top pitching prospect from the Mets at the deadline for David Robertson.

Mets smartly passed and now they land Robertson for 1 year $10M. He can slide in to that 8th inning role setting up Edwin Diaz. Big fan of this move.
