Mike Puma NY Post: Mets, Carlos Correa mum on status of negotiations after holdup. "There is optimism a deal can still be completed between Correa and the Mets, with one source on Monday placing the likelihood at 55 percent that the two sides find common ground. Among the possibilities is added contract language that would protect the Mets from financial responsibility if Correa’s pre-existing condition sidelined him for an extended stretch. Correa’s agent, Scott Boras, worked out a similar contract clause with J.D. Martinez following a five-year agreement with the Red Sox for $110 million."
NY Post: Carlos Correa celebrates Christmas with family while awaiting Mets fate.
Bleacher Report: Mets Rumors: Carlos Correa Not Believed to Be Open to Restructuring Contract Offer.
The Score: Report: 3 teams recently contacted Correa after Mets' physical issues.
Clutchpoints: 2 teams that must sign Carlos Correa if Mets deal falls through. The Braves and Twins are seen as "2 ballclubs who must pursue Carlos Correa if the Mets deal falls through."
Honest answer for me: 0. If it falls through, that means the medicals are bad. No harm/foul. But Correa/Boras have all the reason in the world to ram this through. If Mets back out, nobody will be the 3rd team after 2 backouts. Mets have upper hand for a team friendlier deal now. https://t.co/fCrpR7Dt8v
