Jon Heyman NY Post: Why Carlos Correa’s Mets deal should eventually get done. "1. Mets owner Steve Cohen badly wanted to do the deal. 2. Correa badly wants this deal to happen. 3. Cohen and Boras have grown close following the Max Scherzer and Brandon Nimmo deals, and neither party wants to affect that negatively via a blown-apart deal."  Jon also added this - "A few teams have been calling, but even a week after the Mets agreement, they are being told it’s only a Mets game — for now."

Jon Heyman NY Post: The nine best MLB free-agent deals this winter — Aaron Judge not on list.  No Mets deals make it but 2 ex-Mets deals do - #2. Jacob deGrom ($185M, five years, Rangers); #6. Taijuan Walker ($72M, four years, Phillies).  Masataka Yoshida ($90M, five years, Red Sox) was Jon's #1 deal.

Keith Hernandez is still unsigned after having talks with SNY in recent weeks. Negotiations are expected to pick up after New Year's.
