NY Post:
- Carlos Correa agrees to $200 million deal with Twins after Mets deal falls apart – “Correa reached agreement with the Twins on a six-year contract worth $200 million. Correa will have an opportunity to receive an additional $70 million over four vesting years with the Twins, based on plate appearances.”
- Jon Heyman: Behind Mets’ failed two-week attempt to save Carlos Correa contract –“The Mets also were willing to fully guarantee the first six years, but that would be at $157.5M, and they proposed new conditions Correa’s camp saw as more difficult to reach, involving not just plate appearances but time in the field. While the Mets’ newly reconfigured deal might still have been called a potential $315M for 12 years, the last six years, just like with the Twins deal, would have been less than fully guaranteed.”
- Jon Heyman: ‘Disappointed’ Mets shouldn’t be down about Carlos Correa getting away
- Joel Sherman: Steve Cohen ‘needed’ Carlos Correa — even if Mets really didn’t
