The Mets Officially announced yesterday's Jeff McNeil's 4 year contract extension"'We are thrilled for Jeff and his family,' Mets Owner, CEO and Chairman Steve Cohen said. 'It feels like he hasn't stopped hitting since he lined a single in his first at-bat at Citi Field five years ago...'"

Mets.com: McNeil extension signals Mets' commitment to homegrown players - "In addition to filling countless needs through the top of the free-agent market, Cohen’s Mets like the idea of enticing their homegrown players to stay put...Longer term, the Mets’ appetite for extensions could allow them to follow Atlanta’s model in locking up high-upside players such as Francisco Álvarez or Brett Baty long before they approach free agency."

NY Post: Jeff McNeil awaits car from Francisco Lindor as he savors Mets contract. "Promised a car by teammate Francisco Lindor if McNeil won the batting title last season, the Mets second baseman still hasn’t received his prize after leading the National League with a .326 batting average in 2022...McNeil recently sent Lindor a video of cars that had caught his attention and received acknowledgment from the shortstop. 'He said they were nice cars,' McNeil said at a Citi Field press conference."

Yahoo Sports: Jeff McNeil credits 2021 struggles for helping him win batting title: ‘I found the real hitter I am’

NY Post: "Patrick McCarthy, son of former Mets radio play-by-player Tom, will be the WCBS pregame and postgame host and swingman game-caller when the voice of the team, Howie Rose, is off, according to sources. The Post previously reported that Keith Raad would be the Mets’ replacement for Wayne Randazzo as Rose’s main booth partner. Raad has been the Brooklyn Cyclones lead broadcaster."

Mets.com: 1 reason to be excited about each of MLB's top 3 prospects - "Francisco Álvarez, C, Mets -- Big bat potential. But one thing we did see is that Álvarez doesn't get cheated at the plate, and he can drive the ball a long way. Three of the eight balls Álvarez hit [last year in the Majors] were barreled: a 107.8 mph, 356-foot double off the wall at Citi Field;"
