SNY on YouTube put together a great video recapping the 2022 season to prep for the 2023 season:
Yesterday the Mets invited the Media to sample new food items, to display their new scoreboard and to show other new items at the stadium including new items in the Mets Hall of Fame:
SNY.TV posted a video on YouTube of the New items.
The NY Post's Amazin' But True Podcast sampled the different food items.
NY Post:
- Mets to unveil humongous new scoreboard at Citi Field
- Joel Sherman: Don’t expect Mets to join expected MLB increase in stolen bases: “But while Showalter — or any manager — can use strategy to try to curtail running games, your roster is your roster. And if it doesn’t have base stealers, then the new rules might be about to help others more. And the Mets’ roster does not look like one that will be capitalizing on what almost certainly will be a rise in steal attempts and successes”
- Mark Vientos has better shot than Brett Baty to make Mets: “Vientos has improved the most, and depending on the [Darin] Ruf situation, he might be here sooner rather than later,” one scout predicted. Danny Mendick could make the Mets, too. …”
- Pete Alonso back from WBC with a taste for playoff-style baseball
- Mike Vasil gets spring training glimpse at his Mets future “Vasil, 23, was brought on this trip to Florida’s West Coast from minor league camp because the Mets needed an arm to replace Carlos Carrasco, who originally was scheduled to throw in Port St. Lucie against minor leaguers, but instead received “elbow maintenance.”
- Elieser Hernandez finds a groove in Mets’ spring tie “After four straight appearances in which he allowed at least one earned run, bullpen candidate Elieser Hernandez pitched a scoreless fourth inning in the Mets’ 2-2 Grapefruit League tie with the Braves in North Port, Fla.”
Mets.com:
- Classic atmosphere has Alonso eyeing '23 postseason
- Need for speed: Each team's fastest prospect - for the Mets they have "Omar De Los Santos, OF (Not ranked among Top 30) - he stole 70 bags in 111 games for Single-A St. Lucie...De Los Santos recorded 14 of the 21 fastest home-to-first times measured by Statcast among St. Lucie players in 2022, all of which were between 3.88 and 4.15 seconds."

Newsday:
- Mets unveil new scoreboard, MLB's largest, at Citi Field
- Brett Baty's time is coming, but when? “I feel like I’ve shown all I could,” Baty said before Thursday’s 2-2 tie with Atlanta at CoolToday Park. “Just trying to be as consistent as possible out there and put together good at-bats and play solid defense. That’s all I can ask for.”
NY Daily News:
- Mets get preview
of pitching prospect Mike Vasil against Braves “But Vasil
looked like he belonged for the most part. Other than the changeup that Matt
Olson got ahold of for a two-run homer in the bottom of the third, the
24-year-old Boston native handled a tough lineup well. Vasil allowed two runs
on six hits and struck out three in the Mets 2-2 tie Thursday at CoolToday
Park.”
