Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (24-32) travel south to open a six-game series against the Aberdeen IronBirds (28-28) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Tuesday evening at 7:05 p.m. from Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. 

RHP Cameron Foster (2-4, 5.14) ­ is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against the Orioles’ No. 28 prospect per Baseball America, Aberdeen’s RHP Jean Pinto (1-1, 2.78).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn rallied from 3 runs down to defeat Greenville, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at Maimonides Park...2B César Berbesi powered a 2-run home run in the 7th to pull the Cyclones within 1...SS William Lugo delivered a go-ahead 2-run blast in the 8th to give Brooklyn the lead for good...RHP Wilkin Ramos faced the minimum over 3.0 shutout frames of relief to earn his 3rd win...RHP Blade Tidwell tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts for Brooklyn over 4.0 innings...Greenville’s RHP Ángel Bastardo hurled 6.0 frames of 1-run ball...C Kevin Parada tied a career-high with 3 hits, while 3B Mateo Gil and Berbesi added multi-hit games...LF Miguel Ugueto accrued 3 hits, 2 doubles, and an RBI for the Drive. 

 

AMAZIN’ STARTS HERE: Baseball America released their updated list of Top 30 New York Mets’ prospects on Monday...6 members of the 2023 squad are featured...C Kevin Parada (No. 2), OF Alex Ramírez (5), RHP Blade Tidwell (7), RHP Raimon Gómez (15), RHP Christian Scott (16), and RHP Tyler Stuart (18)...Former Cyclones listed include: INF Ronny Mauricio (No. 1), RHP Mike Vasil (4), OF Matt Rudick (13), RHP Dominic Hamel (14), RHP Junior Santos (19), RHP José Butto (23), RHP Luis Montas (24), OF Rowdey Jordan (25), and RHP Matt Allan (30)...In all, 15-of-30 members of BA’s Top 30 have experience playing on Coney Island. 

 

PARADA DAY: Kevin Parada tied a career and season best with 3 hits in Sunday’s win vs. Greenville...Since May 27 vs. Winston-Salem, the 2022 No. 11 pick is slashing .321/.367/.429 with a .795 OPS and 121 wRC+...Parada is 18-for-56 at the plate with 4 runs scored, 3 doubles, a home run, 5 RBI, and 4 walks...Since that date, Parada is tied for the SAL lead in hits (18) and 6th in batting average (.321)...Entering Tuesday, the former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket is tied for 5th in the circuit in doubles (14) for the season. 

 

CYCLONE SHUFFLE: The Cyclones made a series of roster moves on Monday...RHP Christian Scott was transferred to Double-A Binghamton, while LHP Quinn Brodey returned to Brooklyn from Binghamton...OF Scott Ota was reinstated from the 7-day injured list and OF Dyron Campos was transferred back to the Florida Complex League Mets...In 6 starts for Brooklyn, Scott tallied a 1-0 record with a 2.28 ERA (6 ER in 23.2 IP) and 27 strikeouts to just 4 walks...Brodey held a 2.65 ERA (5 ER in 17.0 IP) and 23 punch outs in 11 relief appearances during his first stint with the ‘Clones...Ota was 0-for-3 in 1 game before landing on the IL on June 1...Campos also went 0-for-3 playing in Game 2 on Saturday vs. Greenville. 

 

THE BEST AROUND: The Cyclones’ pitching staff has been marvelous over the course of the team’s last 25 games...Since May 17, Brooklyn has permitted just 59 earned runs (83 total) on 165 hits through the last 211.0 innings...That is good for a 2.52 ERA...That mark is the best in the SAL and the High-A level...It is also the 3rd-best ERA in all of Minor League Baseball in that stretch...Only Kansas City’s Single-A Columbia (2.43) and Washington’s Single-A Fredericksburg (2.48) have lower marks...Cyclones’ pitching has walked 96 (10.8 BB%) and struck out 258 in that span (29.1 K%)...The ‘Clones have outscored opponents, 103-83, over the 25-game stretch...Brooklyn is 13-12 during that span. 

 

RELIEF READY: The Cyclones’ relief staff has been exquisite at quelling fires in 2023...Entering Tuesday, Brooklyn has the best bullpen ERA (3.20) in the entire South Atlantic League and among all High-A teams...Hudson Valley (3.33) is 2nd in the circuit and the Twins’ High-A Cedar Rapids is 2nd (3.27) at the classification...The Cyclones’ relief ERA is also the best in the New York Mets’ farm system and 4th best in all of MiLB...Kansas City’s Single-A Columbia leads MiLB (2.97). 

 

GOING, GOING, GIL: INF Mateo Gil has reached base safely in 18 of his last 20 games dating back to May 18 at Hudson Valley...The 22-year-old is slashing .273/.360/.546 and he has registered an impressive .906 OPS, 143 wRC+, .404 wOBA, and .273 ISO in that time...Gil is 18-for-66 at the plate (.273) with 11 runs scored, 6 doubles, 4 home runs, and 13 RBI adding 8 walks...Since that date, Gil is tied for 3rd in the league in home runs (4), tied for 4th in extra-base hits (10) and slugging (.546), tied for 6th in doubles (6), and RBI (13), and tied for 7th in OPS (.906). 

 

BLADE CUTS ‘EM DOWN: RHP Blade Tidwell is in the midst of his best stretch of baseball in 2023...The 21-year-old did not factor into the decision on Sunday, but hurled 4.0 innings and tied a career-best with 10 strikeouts...Tidwell also whiffed 10 on May 4 vs. Aberdeen...Over his last 5 starts dating back to May 17 at Hudson Valley, Tidwell is 2-0 with a 1.77 ERA (4 ER in 20.1 IP) with just 10 hits allowed...The Loretto, Tenn. native has walked 20 and struck out 33 (14.61 K/9)...Tidwell’s strikeout rate is 36.7% during the stretch and opponents hold a meager .143 batting average (10-70) against him. 

 

TY-NAMIC: At 6-foot-9, RHP Tyler Stuart struck out 9 in Game 2 on Saturday and has been as consistent and imposing as any starting pitcher in the South Atlantic League in 2023...The 23-year-old permitted just 2 earned runs over 25.1 frames (0.71 ERA) in 5 starts during May...Stuart leads all qualifiers in the  SAL, High-A, and all of Minor League Baseball in ERA (1.47)...The Kankakee, Ill. native leads the league in LOB% (86.8%) and FIP (2.67), 4th in xFIP (3.27), and 7th in strikeout rate (30.5%), and strikeouts per 9 innings (11.20).
