Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (27-36) try and return to the win column against the Hudson Valley Renegades (38-26) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island. 

RHP Jeffrey Colón (1-3, 5.40) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Hudson Valley’s RHP Brendan Beck (NR).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn dropped the opening game of the homestand, 1-0, on Tuesday night vs. Hudson Valley...Only run of the contest was scored on a RBI single to left by 3B Eduardo Torrealba...Torrealba registered 2 of the Renegades’ 3 hits...The Cyclones did not collect their first hit until the bottom of the 9th...C Kevin Parada reached on an infield single...DH Abraham Almonte coaxed 3 walks in a rehab start for Brooklyn...RHP Tyrone Yulie hurled 7.0 innings of shutout, no-hit baseball, earning his 3rd win of 2023...RHP Carlos Gómez finished off the final 2.0 frames of the 1-hitter, earning his 2nd save...RHP Joander Suárez tossed a career-best 6.0+ innings, striking out a season-high-tying 8, but took the loss...Hudson Valley clinched the First Half North Division title with the victory. 

 

YO-JOANDER: RHP Joander Suárez continues to hit his stride after returning from Tommy John surgery in June of 2021...The 23-year-old set a new-career-high with 6+ innings of work in Tuesday’s defeat...Suárez allowed just 1 run on 2 hits, walking 3 and striking out a season-high-matching 8...His 91 pitches also set a career-high...Over his last 2 starts, Suárez has a 1-1 record and a 3.27 ERA (4 ER in 11.0 IP)...The Cumaná, Venezuela native has punched out 16 and walked 6, allowing just 6 hits...Suárez holds a rate of 13.09 strikeouts-per-9 innings and a strikeout rate of 35.6% (16/45) in that span. 

 

PARADA DAY: Kevin Parada has picked up the pace offensively over the last few weeks...Dating back to June 6 vs. Greenville, the 21-year-old is slashing .295/.340/.432 with a .772 OPS and 113 wRC+ in 11 games...Parada has accrued 5 runs scored, 2 home runs, 6 RBI, 2 walks, and a hit-by-pitch...The former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket enters Wednesday tied for 5th in the South Atlantic League in doubles (14). 

 

DYLAN THROWS HOT FIRE: RHP Dylan Tebrake has been nearly untouchable since being reinstated from Brooklyn’s injured list...Since being activated on May 14, the 23-year-old has made 10 relief appearances...Tebrake has a 1.08 ERA (2 ER in 16.2 IP) on 5 hits and 7 walks, registering 25 strikeouts (13.50 K/9)...That equates to a 39.7 K% (25/63). 

 

JEFE JEFFREY: RHP Jeffrey Colón did not receive a decision after permitting 1 earned run (2 total) over 4.1 innings on Thursday at Aberdeen...The 23-year-old also matched a career-best with 9 strikeouts on May 26 vs. Winston-Salem...That equaled his total from last August 28 at Jersey Shore...In his last 5 appearances (4 starts), Colón is 1-0 with a 1.96 ERA (5 ER in 23.0 IP), allowing 17 hits and 10 walks, striking out 24...In his last 3 starts at Maimonides Park, Colón has hurled 18.2 innings, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 13 hits...The Las Matas de Farfán, D.R. native has a 1.93 ERA, permitted only 6 walks, and punched out 20 in that span.
