Junior Tilien hit a go-ahead three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning to turn a 6-5 deficit into an 8-6 lead.

The Cardinals scored a run on two-out RBI double by Lizandro Espinoza in the bottom of the eighth that cut the Mets lead to 8-7. Runners advanced to second and third on the extra base hit. Luke Bartnicki escaped with the lead when Won-Bin Cho lined out sharply to right-center field.

Joey Lancellotti struck out two in a scoreless ninth for his first save in his first opportunity. With the tying run on second base and two outs, Lancellotti struck out Michael Curialle on a slider to end the game.

Bartnicki got credit for his first win despite allowing three runs, three hits and three walks in two innings.
