The Brooklyn Cyclones (19-10, 47-47) look to earn a series split against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (11-18, 40-53) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y. 

RHP Benito García (0-0, 0.96 ERA) is scheduled to make his first start of the season for Brooklyn against Wilmington’s RHP Bryan Cáceres (0-3, 10.31 ERA).

BANANA’S FOR FOSTER: RHP Cameron Foster took the loss but punched out a career-high 12 on Saturday evening vs. Wilmington...The 12 punchouts are the most by a Cyclone pitcher in 2023...Foster is the 3rd different Brooklyn arm to strike out 10+ batters in a single game this year...RHP Tyler Stuart whiffed 11 on June 22, while RHP Blade Tidwell has accomplished the feat 4 times...The Houston native is the first Cyclone pitcher to strikeout 12-plus batters in a single contest since RHP Marcos Molina collected 12 strikeouts on August 15, 2014, in a 7-0 win at Vermont...Foster is the first to accomplish the feat at home since RHP Collin McHugh collected 12 K’s vs. Jamestown on August 8, 2009...Since the start of June, the 24-year-old holds a 2-1 record with a 3.32 ERA (14 ER in 38.0 IP) with 11 walks and 46 strikeouts over 8 starts...Foster’s strikeout rate is up 6.8% from his overall numbers (29.7% from 22.9%) and his walk rate is down 3.0% (7.0% from 10.0%).
