The Brooklyn Cyclones (21-11, 49-48) go for consecutive wins against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (16-16, 51-46) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Thursday evening at 7:05 p.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, N.J. 

RHP Jawilme Ramírez (NR) is scheduled to take the hill for his Brooklyn debut against Jersey Shore’s RHP Mitch Neunborn (1-1, 2.55 ERA).

CLIFFORD THE CYCLONE: OF Ryan Clifford was added to Brooklyn's roster on Thursday...The 20-year-old was acquired by the New York Mets with OF Drew Gilbert from the Houston Astros in exchange for RHP Justin Verlander on Tuesday...Clifford was ranked as Houston's No. 3 prospect at midseason by Baseball America and is deemed the Mets' No. 6 farmhand by MLB Pipeline...Prior to joining Brooklyn, Clifford split his season in the Astros' system between Single-A Fayetteville and High-A Asheville...The left-handed swinger slashed .337/.488/.457 with a .944 OPS in 25 games with the Woodpeckers before joining the Tourists on May 9...Clifford posted a .271/.356/.547 slash line with a .903 OPS, 16 home runs, and 46 RBI in 58 games...The 2022 11th-round pick enters Thursday tied for 4th in the South Atlantic League in home runs (16)...Among players with at least 250 plate appearances, Clifford is 1st in isolated power (.276), 4th in OPS (.903), 6th in wOBA (.395), and wRC+ (139). 

AIR JORDANY: RHP Jordany Ventura set new career highs in innings pitched (7.1) and strikeouts (9), earning the win and tossing a quality start in Wednesday afternoon's win at Jersey Shore...The Dominican native allowed just 2 runs on 2 hits, walking only 2 on a season-high 93 pitches and 63 strikes...The 23-year-old tossed 2-full innings more than his previous high of 5.1 frames on July 21 at Hudson Valley...His 9 K's were 2 more than his previous best of 7 vs. Lakeland on April 20...In 4 starts with Brooklyn, the Mets' No. 24 prospect per Baseball America is 2-0 with a 3.20 ERA (7 ER in 19.2 IP), 11 walks (13.9 BB%), and 17 strikeouts (21.5 K%).
