The Mets opened up a six-run lead in the top of the seventh. Daytona reliever Nicolo Pinazzi walked two and hit a batter to load the bases. With one out, Jefrey De Los Santos worked a walk to force in a run that made it 5-2.

Martinez hit a two-out, two-run single later in the inning. A third run scored on the hit on an error by left fielder Yerlin Confidan that made it 8-2.

Rodriguez took over from Henriquez in the bottom of the seventh with one out and the bases loaded. He struck out Cam Collier and got a ground out to post a scoreless inning.

Rodriguez pitched a perfect eighth and worked around a two-out walk in the ninth. He pitched 2.2 hitless innings to finish the game in a non-save situation.

Martinez led the way at the plate, going 2 for 4 with four RBI.

The Mets evened the series 2-2.
