FanGraphs released their ZIPS projections for the NY Mets yesterday. Here are some of the ones that I found most interesting:
- Francisco Lindor 27 HRs, 91 RBIS, .257/.336/.458;
- Pete Alonso 40 HRs, 115 RBIS,.252/.345/.517;
- Francisco Alvarez 23 HRs, 73 RBIS, .230/.321/.436;
- Mark Vientos 22 HRs, 69 RBIS, .243/.307/.447;
- Brett Baty 19 HRs, 66 RBIS,.247/.321/.411;
- Ronny Mauricio 20 HRs, 74 RBIS, .244/.285/.405;
There were so many different combos discussed, so it's hard to remember the exact details. There was a bigger trade discussion involving McCann (paid down), Dom Smith, and another top Mets prospect to ChC with Contreras, Kimbrel, Baez, and Williams coming back. Here's Zack Scott's quote on the thought process behind trading a prospect - as he did with Pete Crow-Armstrong - and insights into acquiring Javier Báez from the Chicago Cubs from his interview with @BBisntBoring. #Mets @Metsmerized pic.twitter.com/wO7llOWrUc I'm super fascinated by Zack Scott giving all this info and insight into deals. As a fan/super amateur person myself as far as prospect rankings/scouting/reports my understanding from minor league peoples and teammates was that PCA was an absolute stud and his bat was solid. https://t.co/Ekg0NLEDCz

Lindor finished 9th, receiving as high as a 6th place vote.
Alonso received one 8th place vote and finished tied for 17th place. pic.twitter.com/bbaQ5mGVqk
Also, the Mets reportedly believe they can use Daniel Vogelbach as a "centerpiece player" if the Padres make Juan Soto available.
