Ronny Mauricio has reportedly been cleared to start playing Winter Ball. He was not in their lineup last night for the Dominican Tigres del Licey or listed on their roster yet. They are scheduled to play next on Tuesday.
Per the transactions tab on the Syracuse Mets Roster page, the Mets have signed Minor League Free Agent Carlos Guzman and assigned him to Syracuse. Originally signed by the Detroit Tigers as a 3rd Baseman before converting to Pitcher, Carlos spent last year with the Cubs, mostly at AA - 6 and 2, 4.86 ERA, 35 games, 76 innings, 82 Ks;Sounds like Mauricio was dealing with a minor injury of sorts and the Mets wanted to make sure he was all good before clearing him to play.

Per report, Mauricio had to undergo "rigorous testing" before getting cleared.
He is expected to play mostly 3B for the Tigres. https://t.co/Pm5Pu0as9w

- One potential trade candidate from each team - Pete Alonso is the Mets' candidate - "Alonso and the Mets will likely discuss a potential extension, but if the two sides are far apart in those conversations, New York could look to deal Alonso rather than risk losing him for nothing more than a Draft pick next winter."
MLB Trade Rumors:
- Five Non-Tendered Relievers To Keep An Eye On This Offseason - Trevor Gott, non-tendered by Mets, and Penn Murfee, claimed on waiver by Mets - claimed by waivers by Braves and non-tendered by Braves - both make the list.
