Baseball Prospectus: 2024 Season Preview New York Mets. They give the Mets a projected record of 84-78 (3rd Place in NL East).  The Author has a less optimistic prediction of 80-82 (also 3rd in the NL East).  The run all of the projected players - here is what they say about Kodai Senga - "Senga cut out his sweeper last year, relying on his high-90s fastball, cutter, and the dreaded ghost fork that got the Mets to give him a five-year deal. This dropped his walk rate significantly and saw him emerge as the Mets’ staff ace after a natural period of adjustment. Of course, the element of surprise is gone—Senga hid his ghost fork from the public eye in spring training so that he could more effectively deceive hitters with it, but everyone’s seen it now. Then again, who believes anyone who claims they’ve seen a ghost?" (Subscription required).
