Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (8-8) look to extend their winning streak to a season-long four on Wednesday night against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (11-5) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

RHP Noah Hall (0-2, 10.61) is scheduled to take the ball for Brooklyn in game two of the series. Wilmington is projected to counter with RHP Bryan Cáceres (0-0, 3.60).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn opened its 12-game home stand on Tuesday night with a 5-0 victory over Wilmington, good for its second shutout of the season...Two-way player Nolan McLean showcased a strong performance on the hill in his third start of the season...The former Oklahoma State Cowboy tossed five two-hit innings, allowing only two hits and a walk while striking out nine...McLean was far from the only Cyclone arm to have success...RHPs Dakota Hawkins and Joey Lancellotti slammed the door shut, combining for four shutout three-hit frames...C Drake Osborn crossed the plate three times, while 1B Nick Lorusso logged a career-high tying three hits, including a triple.

 

YIPPEE KI-YAY: TWP Nolan McLean has been a revelation for the Cyclones so far in 2024...The 22-year-old has picked up at least one extra-base hit in all five games he has appeared as a position player and became the first Brooklyn starter to earn a victory in 2024 on Tuesday...At the dish, McLean is 7-for-20 (.350) with six runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, and four RBI...On Saturday, the Willow Springs, N.C. native registered a career-high three hits — including a pair of doubles — and an RBI...Offensively, McLean enters the day tied for sixth in the South Atlantic League with six extra-base knocks, despite at least 23 fewer plate appearances than any of the players tied or ahead of him...On the mound, Nolan is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA (6 ER in 11.0 IP) with 12 strikeouts in three starts. 

 

LOVE THE DRAKE!: Drake Osborn has been unstoppable at the plate to start the 2024 season...On Tuesday, the 25-year-old reached base four times thanks to a single, a double, and a pair of walks...Osborn has reached base safely in all eight games he's played, hitting an eye-popping .458 (11-24) with a 1.289 OPS and adding three doubles, a home run, and three RBI...Among players

in the South Atlantic League with at least 30 plate appearances, the Corpus Christi, Texas native leads the circuit in batting average (.458), on-base percentage (.581), slugging percentage (.708), and OPS (1.289).
