Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (22-20) try and return to the win column against the Hudson Valley Renegades (20-19) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — on Friday at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park in Brooklyn.

 

RHP Douglas Orellana (0-0, 1.23) is expected to take the hill for the Cyclones. The Renegades are projected to counter with the Yankees’ No. 12 prospect per Baseball America, LHP Kyle Carr (0-2, 6.49)

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn saw its four game winning streak halted by the Renegades, 16-3, on Thursday night...The contest aired on SNY, the New York Mets’ TV home...Despite an audience on cable television, Brooklyn was playing from behind all night...RHP Jordany Ventura was tagged with the loss, logging 2.1 innings while allowing six runs (five earned)...All nine Renegades starters recorded at least one hit, headlined by the minor-league rehabbing INF Jorbit Vivas, who enjoyed a 5-for-5 day at the dish, adding a walk to reach base in all six trips...Hudson Valley put up a five spot in the first - their largest output in a frame...Despite the loss, 3B Nick Lorusso launched his fifth and sixth homers of the season...The former Maryland Terrapin now has two multi-HR games this season.

 

NICK DIGS THE LONG BALL: INF Nick Lorusso has quietly been one of the top hitters in the South Atlantic League in 2024...The 23-year-old launched two more home runs in Thursday's loss to Hudson Valley...The 2023 draftee tied for third in extra-base hits (17), fifth in slugging (.537) and OPS (.912), tied for sixth in RBI (24), and tied for ninth in total base (66)...His 155 wRC+ is also fifth in the circuit...Among Mets' minor leaguers, Lorusso is tied for second in extra-base hits (17), tied for third in doubles (9), fourth in slugging (.537), fifth in OPS (.912), and tied for fifth in home runs (6).
