Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (15-12) begin their only two-week road trip of the 2024 season starting with a six-game series against the Rome Emperors (14-11) — the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves — on Tuesday at 7 p.m. from AdventHealth Stadium in Rome, Ga.

 

LHP Felipe De La Cruz (0-3, 2.91) — the New York Mets’ No. 39 prospect entering 2024 per Baseball America — is expected to take the ball for the Cyclones. The Emperors are projected to counter with the Braves’ No. 16 farmhand per Baseball America, RHP Lucas Braun (1-0, 5.89).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones captured a second-straight series victory with a 5-2 win over Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon...Brooklyn erupted for three runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead on a bases-loaded walk to DH Junior TIlien and a two-run double by LF José Hernández...CF Omar De Los Santos collected a base knock and stole a pair of bags...SS William Lugo worked three walks in the contest...RHP Brett Banks posted a scoreless inning of relief or his second win, while RHP Josh Hejka tossed a scoreless ninth for his first save.

 

WELCOME TO BROOKLYN: OF Nick Morabito and C Christopher Suero joined the Cyclones roster from Single-A St. Lucie on Monday...Morabito posted an eye-popping .397 average (31-78) in 24 games in the Florida State League...The 21-year-old added five extra-base hits, one home run, 10 RBI, and 11 stolen bases...At the time of his promotion, Morabito was leading the Florida State League in hitting (.397), on-base percentage (.530), and OPS (1.043)...He also ranked third in slugging (.513), hits (31), and stolen bases (11), while tied for sixth in walks (18), and seventh in total bases (40)...Entering play on Tuesday, Morabito is second in Minor League Baseball in on-base percentage (.530), third in batting average (.397), and sixth in wRC+ (210)...Suero joins the Cyclones after garnering a .265 clip (22-83) in 25 FSL games...The 20-year-old added nine extra-base knocks, two home runs, and 15 RBI...Suero departed the FSL tied for the league lead in runs scored (18) and tied for seventh in RBI (15)...RHP Jake Stevenson was signed by the New York Mets to a minor league contract and assigned to Brooklyn...The 27-year-old collected a 1.85 ERA (5 ER in 24.1 IP) in 22 appearances (one start) for High-A Greensboro in the South Atlantic League last year...C Carlos Oviedo was also added to the roster from the Florida Complex League and placed on the Development List...In corresponding moves, C José Hernández and INF Kevin Villavicencio were transferred to Single-A St. Lucie, and C Drake Osborn was transferred to Double-A Binghamton.
