The Brooklyn Cyclones (3-8, 36-41) will play as the Coney Island Franks to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day holiday against the Hudson Valley Renegades (6-4, 39-36) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — at 7 p.m. on Wednesday from Maimonides Park on Coney Island.

2023 National League All-Star RHP Kodai Senga (NR) is expected to take the hill for the Cyclones as part of a Major League rehab assignment. The Renegades are projected to counter with LHP Kyle Carr (0-4, 5.91), the Yankees’ No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline.

KODAI ISLAND: The New York Mets announced on Monday that RHP Kodai Senga will make a Major League rehab start for the Brooklyn Cyclones on Wednesday night vs. Hudson Valley...The 31-year-old was placed on New York's 15-day injured list on March 28 (retro 3/25) with a right shoulder capsule strain...He was transferred to the 60-day injured list on April 10...He will be the sixth player to make a Major League rehab appearance for the Cyclones on Coney Island this year, joining RHP Sean Reid-Foley, RHP Tylor Megill, RHP Drew Smith, C Francisco Alvarez, and RHP Edwin Díaz...Senga was a National League All-Star in his 2023 rookie campaign for the Mets, tallying a 12-7 record with a 2.98 ERA (55 ER in 166.1 IP), 77 walks (11.10 BB%), and 202 strikeouts (29.11 K%) in 29 starts...The Fukuoka, Japan, native finished second behind Arizona OF Corbin Carroll in the 2023 NL Rookie of the Year voting...Senga signed a five-year, $75 million contract with the Mets on December 17, 2022.
