Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (19-25, 52-58) look to return to the win column against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (20-23, 51-58) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday from Judy Johnson Field at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.

RHP Justin Lawson (2-4, 2.68) is expected to get the ball for Brooklyn, making the first start of his professional career. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with RHP Riley Cornelio (6-10, 6.01).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn's three-game winning streak was snapped in a 6-4 loss at Wilmington on Wednesday...The Blue Rocks jumped out a 3-0 lead in the first before the Cyclones rallied for four runs in the fifth to take the lead on a two-run LF Chris Suero single...Wilmington regained the lead in the bottom half on a two-run fielding error and never relinquished the advantage...Suero and 2B D'Andre Smith each posted multi-hit games for Brooklyn...1B Roismar Quintana registered a team-high three hits for the Blue Rocks, while RF Jared McKenzie tallied two knocks and two RBI.

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES' HISTORY: On August 15, 2002, 1B Brett Harper went 5-for-5 at Aberdeen to tie the then-franchise record for hits in a game...In 2010, the Cyclones and Williamsport Crosscutters were tied at one until the 14th inning...1B Jeff Flagg provided the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the top of the 14th in a 2-1 victory...In 2014, RHP Marcos Molina struck out 12 hitters over 7.0 innings of one-hit shutout ball in a 7-0 win at Vermont...RHPs Luis Rengel (1.0 IP, 3 K) and Edioglis Villasmil (1.0, 1 H, 1 K) combined on a two-hitter, while DH Tomás Nido went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI...In 2017, the original "Voice of the Cyclones" Warner Fusselle was posthumously inducted into the New York-Penn League Hall-of-Fame before the league All-Star Game in Troy, N.Y...In 2018, 3B Brian Sharp tied a franchise record by drawing four walks in a 4-1 win vs. Vermont...He also stole two bases part of seven on the night for the Cyclones.

NO TROESS-PASSING: RHP Austin Troesser was added to the Cyclones' roster from Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday...In 12 appearances (6 starts) with the Mets, the 22-year-old posted a 1-4 record with a 4.25 ERA (17 ER in 36.0 IP), 16 walks, and 52 strikeouts...Troesser spent over a month on the injured list from May 26 until July 19...In 3 appearances (1 start) since returning, the University of Missouri alum has not allowed a run on two hits in 5.0 innings, walking one and striking out seven...Among Florida State League pitchers (min. 30.0 IP), Troesser was tied for seventh in strikeout-to-walk rate (23.8%) and eighth in strikeout rate (34.4%).

NONE SHALL PASS: The Cyclones' bullpen has been near perfect since the tail end of Saturday's Seinfeld Night festivities vs. Hudson Valley...Brooklyn relievers have not allowed an earned run in 17.1 innings dating back to the fourth inning on Saturday...The 'Clones bullpen did not allow a hit in 11.0 consecutive innings with 19 strikeouts from SS George Lombard Jr.'s two-out single in the eighth inning on Saturday night until 1B Roismar Quintana's single in the sixth inning on Wednesday...RHP Eduardo Herrera, LHP Ryan Ammons, RHP Jordany Ventura, and RHP Alan Perdomo also combined to retire 22 hitters in a row from one out in the ninth inning on Saturday until one out in the eighth inning on Tuesday.

LONG ARM OF THE LAW: RHP Justin Lawson tossed a career-high 4.0 innings to earn his second win in Game 2 of August 4's doubleheader at Aberdeen...The 23-year-old allowed just two hits and one walk, striking out four...Lawson has not allowed an earned run in his last 13.0 innings dating back to July 21 vs. Jersey Shore...Since June 15 at Hudson Valley, the Winnfield, La. native has composed a 2-2 record and a pristine 0.70 ERA (2 ER in 25.2 IP), earning two saves...No South Atlantic League reliever with 20.0 or more innings pitched since June 15 has a lower ERA than Lawson (0.70)...Among all pitchers with at least 25.0 frames on the bump, the right-hander is second in the league in ERA (0.70) in that time.

TO SMITH-EREENS: UT D'Andre Smith has been blasting the ball across the diamond since returning from the 7-day injured list on July 22...The 23-year-old picked up his third multi-hit game during a six-contest hitting streak dating back to the opening game of last Wednesday's doubleheader vs. Hudson Valley...In that span, Smith is 9-for-22 at the plate (.409) with two doubles, two runs batted in, and two stolen bases...The 23-year-old is hitting .278/.291/.370 in 15 games since being reinstated but has hit another gear since the calendar flipped to August...In 9 games this month, Smith is batting .387/.406/.548 with a .954 OPS, two runs scored, two doubles, a home run, four runs batted in, and two steals...The former fifth-round pick is third in the South Atlantic League in batting average (.387) during August (min. 30 PA).
