The Brooklyn Cyclones (21-25, 54-58) continue their series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (20-25, 51-60) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday from Judy Johnson Field at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.
RHP Jonah Tong (4-4, 3.63) — the New York Mets’ No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline — is expected to get the ball for Brooklyn. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with RHP Bryan Cáceres (3-8, 5.90 ERA).

THE TONG SONG: RHP Jonah Tong has been magnificent for the Cyclones in the last few weeks...Since making his South Atlantic League debut on May 2, the Markham, Ont. native is second in the circuit and third among all High-A pitchers in strikeouts (93)...The 93 strikeouts are also tied for 10th in the circuit overall...Tong has been as good as any pitcher in Minor League Baseball this year, tossing 26.0 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to start the season...Among full-season Minor Leaguers with at least 80.0 innings of work, the Markham, Ont. native is second in FIP (2.11), fourth in strikeout rate (35.2%), tied for ninth in strikeout-to-walk rate (24.9%), and 11th in strikeouts (129).
TO SMITH-EREENS: UT D'Andre Smith has been blasting the ball across the diamond since returning from the 7-day injured list on July 22...The 23-year-old picked up his 3rd multi-hit game during a 7-contest hitting streak dating back to the opening game of last Wednesday's doubleheader vs. Hudson Valley...In that span, Smith is hitting .385/.385/.462 with a .847 OPS, 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 2 stolen bases...The 23-year-old is hitting .276/.288/.362 in 16 games since being reinstated but has hit another gear since the calendar flipped to August...In 10 games this month, Smith is batting .371/.389/.514 with a .903 OPS, 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, a home run, 4 RBI, and 2 steals...The former 5th-round pick is 3rd in the South Atlantic League in batting average (.371) during August (min. 35 PA).
