PRESS RELEASE: CITI FIELD NLDS GAME 3 AND GAME 4 DETAILS ANNOUNCED "On Tuesday, Mets Hall of Famer Keith Hernandez will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch to fellow Mets Hall of Famer John Franco. On Wednesday, 2015 NL Championship Series MVP Daniel Murphy will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch...There will also be a Mets Block Party   before both games beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET until first pitch. The Mets Block Party will continue postgame for an hour after the game. The Mets Block Party will include a DJ, appearances by Mr. & Mrs. Met and Mets Alumni, and performances by The Queens Crew...All fans in attendance for both games will   be given a Mets Rally Towel upon entry, courtesy of NewYork-Presbyterian."

NY Post: Mets still struggling to find a Bryce Harper solution in NLDS. " In Games 1 and 2 against Severino, Diaz, Kodai Senga, David Peterson and Phil Maton, Harper stepped to the plate nine times and reached six. He has demolished a home run, smacked a double and walked four times."

David Lennon Newsday: Mets drive their hero-laden bandwagon back to adoring fans at Citi Field. "The vibe around these Mets is totally different from the team’s last trip to the playoffs in 2022, when Buck Showalter’s crew limped to the finish line, got swept in Atlanta to fumble the NL East title, then lost two of three to the Padres — at Citi Field — to exit October in the wild-card round...We can say with some certainty that Citi Field is going to be much more fired up for these Mets, a refuse-to-lose roster that grew in confidence as the breathtaking wins piled up on the road."

Tim Healey Newsday: Mets' pitching plan for NLDS Game 3: Sean Manaea, then figure it out. "After that, though? Good luck guessing. The Mets’ bullpen has been unreliable lately, so much so that their most trustworthy reliever may well be David Peterson, a starter."

1973

The Mets' 9-2 victory over the Reds in Game 3 of the NLCS will best be remembered for the Pete Rose and Bud Harrelson brawl started when the New York feisty shortstop takes exception to 'Charlie Hustle's' hard slide at second base to break up a double play. After the fight, the Mets, fearing a forfeit due to their fans' rowdy behavior, send an emissary, consisting of Willie MaysYogi BerraCleon JonesTom Seaver, and Rusty Staub, out to left field to quell the crowd's unrest.

1986

Mike Scott tosses a five-hitter and ties a playoff record with 14 strikeouts, beating the frustrated Mets, who accuse the Astros' right-hander of scuffing the ball in their 1-0 defeat in Game 1 of NLCS. A Glenn Davis home run in the second inning off Dwight Gooden accounts the lone run in the Astrodome contest.

2000

At Shea Stadium, the Mets blank the Giants, 4-0, to win the NLDS in four games. Bobby Jones, who was sent to the minors earlier in the season to work on his mechanics, retires the side in order eight of the nine innings, allowing only a fifth-inning double to Jeff Kent. The one-hitter is only the sixth in postseason history.
